How is it possible to burn more calories than you consume?
Let’s say in order to lose weight I must eat less than 1,700 calories per day. If eat 1,000 calories today how is it possible to burn over 1,000 calories? According to a calories calculator I must exercise more than 2-3 hours to burn at least 1,000 calories. Also if I don’t exercise and eat less than 1,000-1,500 would I lose weight?
You burn calories constantly, not just from exercise. Ever person has a basic metabolic rate(BMR) which is how many calories they burn if all they did was lay on their back and do nothing. So its your BMR+your activities+exercise that equals your total calories burned.
“Your activities” represents doing something beyond your BMR considerations, like walking to work, mowing the lawn, being a stay at home mother, being on your feet all day at work, and whatever else you might do.
Most people without exercise will burn between 1400-2200 calories a day. Keep in mind that the calculators do not account for how fast your metabolism is for you specifically, just the average for people with those stats.
If you want to loose weight: calculate your bmi, eat that many of calories with about 300 calories a day worth of exercise. Make sure the foods you eat have almost no simple sugars(candy, sweetened drinks and white breads). Try to focus your diet on proteins(lean sources are great, fatty ones are ok), vegetables, fruits and whole grain breads. Oddly enough, for loosing Weight Fat calories are much better than carbs.
Recomended foods: Eggs, fish(luna ect), chicken breast, ham, lean steaks, pork, brown rice, wheat pasta, apples, berries, salads, V8, ect.
